SUBSIDIZED REHEARSALS

PERFORMING ARTISTS TRAINING – POINT RENTALS

With the generous support of the New York State Council on the Arts, STREB offers reduced rehearsal rental rates for $10/hr for solo working artists who benefit from our unique space and philosophy at SLAM.

Thank you for your interest in our subsidized rental services for working artists at SLAM! We welcome all performing artists—whether you’re involved in circus, dance, theater, or any other performing arts discipline—to take advantage of our unique rehearsal space. Please review our rental policy below to ensure everything runs smoothly:

This program is strictly for rehearsals. We welcome performers to utilize our space for practice and development, but please note that no teaching is permitted within this program.

HOST A CLASS AT STREB 

RENTING TEACHING SPACE

At STREB, individuals with expertise in unique movement practices can host their own classes in our dynamic space. Past instructors have offered classes in aerial silks, Lyra, dance, German Wheel, and more, contributing a variety of experiences to the culture of the space. If you’re passionate about sharing your skills, you can propose your own class and host it independently at STREB!

Private or Semi-Private Lesson (1-2 Students-1 Point) $30/hr
Small Group Lesson (Up to 6 People/3 Points/1 Truss) $35/hr
Additional Students – $5/pp 

There are necessary requirements to ensure safety and compliance in order to teach classes at STREB.

Vetting Process: Instructors must be vetted by the STREB team.

References: Checkable instructor references are necessary.
To keep our community safe and vibrant, we ask that all new renters provide three references from reputable circus, dance, or acrobatic facility owners and their current coaches. We’re all about building trust, so please be aware that we’ll be checking those references.  These should be in the form of an email from the reference to Bobby@streb.org.

Insurance: A Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming STREB INC as ‘Additionally Insured’ for up to $1 million per occurrence is required.

Responsibilities: Teachers are responsible for managing their own classes, equipment, and publicity.
